// FREQUENTLY ASKED

What is a temporary email? +

A throwaway address that receives messages for a few minutes and is then destroyed along with every message it received. Useful for one-off signups, downloads, and verifications without exposing your personal inbox.

When should I use Ephemask? +

Anywhere you need to receive an email but don't want to hand out your real address: testing, unknown signups, email-walled file downloads, one-time offers, classifieds, or accounts you know you'll never use again.

How is this different from Gmail aliases? +

Aliases still point to your real inbox and keep emails forever. Ephemask is fully anonymous, requires no signup on the Free tier, and data self-destructs by TTL. Even the raw email payload is gone from S3 within 24 hours.

What happens to my messages? +

Every message inherits the inbox's TTL. When time runs out, the DynamoDB record is deleted automatically and the original .eml in S3 is dropped by lifecycle policy. No backups, no archive.

Why pay for Premium? +

The Free tier covers a 10-minute inbox on a random domain. Premium ($4/month or $40/year) unlocks up to 60-minute inboxes, multiple simultaneous inboxes, custom domains, vanity addresses, forwarding, API + webhook access, and 2FA — with no ads.
